Pre-Development Conferences Starting December 1, 2020, the Bossier City – Parish MPC and Benton – Parish MPC will offer Pre-Development Conferences which is an optional conference conducted prior to the submission of a detailed application. The purpose of the conference is intended to assist property owners, contractors, developers, and business owners with the planning process and to the extent possible, provide feedback and highlight potential issues. These meetings are strongly encouraged for each new development as it pertains to zoning, subdivision plats, major commercial and industrial developments and planned unit developments. Although pre-development conferences are primarily for the benefit of the applicant, staff may in some cases request that an applicant schedule a meeting, if it appears that such a meeting would help facilitate the project. No approvals are given at the pre-development conference and all feedback is conceptual and preliminary.
Scheduling Pre-development conferences are typically scheduled every 2nd Wednesday morning starting at 8:30am with a maximum of three (3) conferences. Each conference is scheduled to be no more than 45mins long. The request for a pre-development meeting and any submittal items shall be submitted to the MPC office by 3:00pm on the Thursday of the previous week. Due to the changing nature of safety measures as it relates to the coronavirus, virtual meetings may be instituted to limit exposure and to meet social distancing guidelines.
Attendees Conferences are typically attended by the applicant, representatives of the appropriate City and Parish departments, MPC staff and other governmental agencies as needed. It is recommended that the applicant/developer’s engineer, architect and/or building contractor also attend the pre-development conference.
Location Pre-Development Conferences will be held in the Bossier City Engineering Conference Room located on the 2nd Floor of Bossier City Hall at 620 Benton Rd. Bossier City, LA, unless otherwise noted.
