Certificate of Occupancy

Any business whose physical address falls inside the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Planning Commission is required to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy provided all building and other code requirements have been met and building and zoning requirements are in compliance. Home based businesses are also required to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.  A Certificate of Occupancy must be issued before  a new businesses can obtain an Occupational License from the City of Bossier Tax Department. 

The Bossier-City Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission has moved to a digital platform for the Certificate of Occupancy Application process.  All applications will be required to be  submitted electronically by the business owner or a representative.  Registration is required to access the self-service portal.  Once registered, "Apply" for the appropriate Certificate of Occupancy.  To apply for a Certificate of Occupancy for a Commercial Business, from the Home Screen of the Self Seri (Certificate of Occupancy or Home Based Certificate of Occupancy) in the permit category.
