The Planning and Zoning office issues Certificates of Occupancy, reviews building permits for commercial and residential projects and is responsible for enforcing zoning ordinance regulations outlined in the Bossier City-Parish Unified Development Code. Additionally, the MPC staff processes applications for annexation, zoning changes, plat approval, planned unit developments, temporary use, conditional use, special exceptions and variances submitted for board hearings.
Certificate of Occupancy Any business whose physical address falls inside the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Planning Commission is required to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy provided all building and other code requirements have been met and building and zoning requirements are in compliance. Pre-Development Conferences Starting December 1, 2020, the Bossier City – Parish MPC and Benton – Parish MPC will offer Pre-Development Conferences which is an optional conference conducted prior to the submission of a detailed application.
