[ARCHIVED] APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 RESERVE POLICE OFFICER ACADEMY

The Bossier City Police Department is now accepting applications
for its 2018 reserve police
 officer academy class.

     Reserve police officers are members of the community who are trainedas certified law enforcement officers in accordance with state requirements and
supplement regular full-time Bossier City police officers in a variety ofduties. Reserve police officers serve on a volunteer basis and possess the same
law enforcement authority as full-time officers while on-duty.

     Members of the BCPD Reserve Police Unit perform multiple services includingpatrol, security and traffic control at special events and assisting the patrol
division during emergency situations that require additional law enforcementpersonnel.

    The 12 week reserve police officer academy is scheduled to begin July 10, 20187. Training sessions typically take place three nights a week and on some Saturdays.

    Application forms and information regarding qualifications are available for download at www.bossiercity.org/264/Reserve-Police-Unit. Forms may also be
picked up at the second floor administrative office of
 Bossier City Police Department, 620 Benton Road.  Thedeadline to submit applications to that office is March 2, 2018. For more
