The Bossier City Police Department is now accepting applications
for its 2018 reserve police officer academyclass.
Reserve police officers are members of the community who are trained
as certified law enforcement officers in accordance with state requirements andsupplement regular full-time Bossier City police officers in a variety of
duties. Reserve police officers serve on a volunteer basis and possess the samelaw enforcement authority as full-time officers while on-duty.
Members of the BCPD Reserve Police Unit perform multiple services including
patrol, security and traffic control at special events and assisting the patroldivision during emergency situations that require additional law enforcement
personnel.
The 12 week reserve police officer academy is scheduled to begin July10, 20187. Training sessions typically take place three nights a week and on
some Saturdays.

picked up at the second floor administrative office of Bossier City PoliceDepartment, 620 Benton Road. The
