The Bossier City Police Department will be spending the last half of August and into the Labor Day weekend stepping up efforts to get drunk drivers off the road.
Beginning tomorrow, August 17, 2018, Bossier City police will take part in the nationwide safety campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, sponsored by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The campaign runs through Sunday, September 3rd and will pair increased public awareness with high-visibility enforcement to reduce the number of drunk drivers on our streets.
The Bossier City Police Department will contribute to the campaign through use of its DWI Task Force. The task force consists of officers who work additional time to patrol the city’s roadways with the sole purpose of targeting motorists who choose to drink and drive.
The BCPD’s participation in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is funded by grant money administered by Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
