Update: The driver of the victim's car in this morning shooting has been accounted for. He was not injured.  He tells police he left the scene to call for help upon having issues with his cell phone. He was located this morning at University Health in Shreveport where he had gone to check on the victims.

The investigation into the shooting continues. 


(Original news release issued Jan. 28, 2017) The Bossier City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning on I-20 that left two people injured. Police were called to I-20 east bound at Traffic Street just before 5 AM. The two victims tell police were riding in a vehicle as it was traveling from Shreveport in Bossier City on the Red River Bridge when another vehicle pulled up along side them and someone inside that vehicle began firing gunshots. Richard Williams, 24,  of Bossier City sustained gunshot wounds to his leg while his sister, Antonya Williams, 28, of Bossier City was shot in the buttocks. Their injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the victim's vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made in the case and the investigation remains on going.

Shreveport police assisted Bossier City police by closing the eastbound lanes of I-20 at Spring Street while officers investigated the scene. The interstate was reopened at 7:45 AM.
