A traffic stop Thursday night by members of the Bossier City Police Department's Street Crimes Interdiction Unit resulted in the seizure of more than two pounds of marijuana along with the arrest of at least one suspect. Chief Mike Halphen says the bust happened after SCIU officers pulled over a car in 2200 of Loreco Street that had no license plate light.

After receiving consent to search the car, officers found 2.2 pounds of marijuana inside with an estimated street value of $9500. The driver, 27-year old Latellas Deland Moore of Shreveport was taken into custody at which time the lone passenger, 33-year old Jonny Love of Shreveport ran from officers into a nearby apartment complex and managed to elude capture.

Chief Halphen says Moore was booked into the Bossier City Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, open container and no license plate light. Meanwhile police have secured an arrest warrant for Love on a charge of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
