Bossier City Police arrested a man after he crashed his SUV into a house overnight and injured a man who was asleep in bed.
25-year old Florencio Alvarez-Torres faces charges of felony hit and run and no driver's license. A charge of DWI may also be filed against him depending on the result of a blood-alcohol test. Police were called to the scene in the 3100 block of Shed Road at approximately 2:00 a.m. Officers say Torres was driving the SUV westbound on Shed Road when it left the road and drove through a carport before it crashed into the house. A man who was sleeping in a bed received what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the VA Hospital in Shreveport by Bossier City Fire Department personnel.
Torres fled the scene on foot prior to the officers' arrival however police located him a short time later nearby at the Parkland Villa Apartments in the 3100 block of Shed Road. Torres was taken into custody and then transported to Willis Knighton-Bossier due to injuries he received in the crash. He was booked into the Bossier City Jail this morning following his release from the hospital.
