POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING ON INTERSTATE 20 - January 28, 2017

The Bossier City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning on I-20 that left two people injured. Police were called I-20 at Traffic Street just before 5 AM in regard to a shooting. The two victims tell police were riding in an eastbound vehicle as it was traveling from Shreveport in Bossier City on the Red River Bridge when another vehicle pulled up along side them and someone inside that vehicle began firing gunshots. Richard Williams, 24,  of Bossier City sustained gunshot wounds to his leg while his sister, Antonya Williams, 28, of Bossier City was shot in the buttocks. Their injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the victim's vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made in the case and the investigation remains on going.

Shreveport police assisted Bossier City police by closing the eastbound lanes of I-20 at Spring Street while officers investigated the scene. The interstate was reopened at 7:45 AM.
