Bossier City police caught and arrested two men Tuesday night after they tried to rob a man at gunpoint.

30-year old Michael Thomas Johnson of Benton and 31-year old Vincent Rashad Stephens of Bossier City are each charged with attempted armed robbery.
The two are accused of trying to rob an 19-year old man as he was walking in the 3800 block of Shed Road Tuesday night. Johnson and Stephens pulled up next to the man in their vehicle when Johnson pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim told them he had none and ran away before calling police. He was not injured. Johnson and Stephens then drove off. A patrol officer responding to the call located the suspect vehicle nearby based on the information provided by the victim. The officer followed the vehicle until backup could arrive and then conducted a traffic stop at the Motel 6 in the 200 block of John Wesley Boulevard.

Officers took Johnson and Stephens into custody without incident and recovered the handgun used in the attempted hold up. Both were subsequently booked into the Bossier City Jail. Along with the attempted robbery charge, Johnson was also booked on a warrant from Louisiana Probation and Parole, a warrant out of Bossier City for simple escape and for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
