The Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire at approximately 5:15 a.m. today in the 3400 block of Moon Lake Circle that heavily damaged a house.
The first fire crews to arrive on the scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from the single story wood frame house. The fire was contained to the attic and had broken through the roof while crews battled the blaze. The two occupants managed to escape without injury with the help of neighbors who alerted them to the fire and helped them get out of the house. Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
Much of the attic was damaged by fire while the remainder of the home sustained a significant amount of smoke and water damage. An investigation by the Bossier City Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau indicates the cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature and started in the area of the home's attic fan.
