Fire investigators with the Bossier City Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau have arrested a Bossier City woman for intentionally setting her home on fire earlier this month.

39-year old Lexie D'Aunn Reeves was arrested on a charge of simple arson in connection with a fire at her home in the 2500 block of Downs Circle on August 20, 2011. Fire crews were called to the home that day just after 2 a.m. and reported heavy smoke coming from the structure upon their arrival. The fire started in a bathroom and quickly spread to the home's attic causing extensive damage.

Reeves told investigators that the fire accidentally started while she was attempting to repair a leaking water line under her bathroom sink with a propane torch. An investigation by the BCFD Fire Prevention Bureau determined Reeves intentionally set the fire based on evidence found at the scene.
