Bossier City Fire Chief Sammy Halphen will present the department's Citizen's Life Saving Award to three people Tuesday, March 16, during the 3 p.m. City Council meeting.
Chief Halphen will honor Jennifer Terrell, David Riley, and Jacob Dyson for providing emergency medical aid to Edward Williams who sustained life threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash on October 2, 2009.
The crash occurred on the A.R. Teague Parkway just north of McDade Street when Williams lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. Terrell, Riley and Dyson were first on the scene and rendered emergency medical assistance to Williams prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. Williams' life was saved as a result of their quick and effective actions.
Chief Halphen will present the award during the "Ceremonial Matters" portion of the City Council meeting which takes place shortly after the meeting begins at 3 p.m. in the City Council chambers at the Bossier City Municipal Complex, 620 Benton Road.
