POSITION TITLE:  Tax Auditor        


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Conducts audits in conjunction with Sales and Use tax to determine amount of taxes paid and tax liability, if any.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:  College degree in related field with at least twelve (12) semester hours in Accounting; four (4) years experience in Accounting or two (2) in Fiscal Auditing; or a suitable combination of college and experience. Must be computer literate, preferably Windows 7 or greater, and be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access proficiently.

 EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:  Experience in examining and analyzing accounting records such as journals, ledgers, invoices, bank statements, depreciation schedules, production records, requisitions, purchase orders and other documents. Ability to interpret/make decisions; speed and accuracy in making mathematical determinations; handle delicate/controversial negotiations and still maintaining professional communication in both oral and written form.  Applicant must be available to work weekends as needed for events around Bossier Parish.  Must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license and be able to travel for audits as needed.
