CITY PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS SET TO OPEN FOR THE SUMMER - May 21, 2012

Two of Bossier City's three public swimming pools will open for the summer later this week. The Shed Road and Mike Wood Park pools will open on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 12 p.m.The hours of operation this summer will be:

Shed Road Pool - 4208 Shed Road
• Monday through Friday 12 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
• Saturday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Closed on Sunday

Mike Wood Park Pool - 2200 Dennis Street
• Monday through Friday 12 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
• Saturday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Closed on Sunday

The third pool, Fort Smith Park Pool at 701 Coleman Street, is anticipated to open during the week of June 4 upon completion of the latest Red Cross lifeguard certification class. The hours of the Fort Smith Pool will be:

Fort Smith Park Pool - 701 Coleman Street
• Monday through Friday 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Saturday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Closed on Sunday

Daily public swim fees are $2 for adults and $1 for children. Individual and family season passes are also available at $35 (per person) or $75 (for up to a family of 4).

Four two-week swimming lesson sessions will be offered at the Shed Road pool and Mike Wood pool beginning June 4. The fee for each session is $40. Applications along with complete schedules are available at the BPAR office, 3223 Old Shed Road and at both pools beginning May 25.
