Members of the Bossier City Fire Department will be out this weekend asking folks attending the Barksdale Air Show to join them in the fight against neuromuscular disease.

The firefighters will be taking part in their annual Fill the Boot campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The firefighters will be stationed in front of Barksdale's West Gate and North Gate on the mornings of Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 beginning at 9 a.m. asking motorists entering the base to donate money as they strive toward the goal of filling their fire boots with cash.

The money raised goes toward funding research, sending children to MDA summer camp and purchasing equipment such as wheel chairs and walkers for victims of neuromuscular disease.
