Dozens of Bossier City youth are spending this week learning about life skills while learning how to dribble and sink a jump shot. "Dynamite Basketball" is taking place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center at Hooter Park, 100 Hooter Street.

"Dynamite Basketball" is organized by the Christian ministry Harvest Outreach of Mansfield, Louisiana which has sponsored the camp each summer with the assistance of the Bossier City Parks and Recreation Department.

The camp is designed to incorporate a unique blend of high energy basketball drills and competition with lessons in character development and decision making skills. The camp runs every day this week from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with approximately 60 area youngsters ages 10 to 16 participating at no cost.

The camp will conclude Friday afternoon, July 15 with an awards program.
