Bossier City's 15th Annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will take place Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at the Liberty Garden located at the Bossier City Municipal Complex, 620 Benton Road (between the police and fire departments). The public is invited to attend.

The keynote speaker this year will be Colonel Bruce R. Cox, Commander of the 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base. The ceremony will also feature remarks from Bossier City Mayor Lorenz Walker and Keep Bossier Beautiful President Chris Opps.

 Those in attendance will also hear from Central Park Elementary School 5th grade student Lex Peterson-Henry as he recites his winning composition from the school's essay contest entitled "What is a Hero?"

The ceremony will conclude with a special message and prayer of Unity in conjunction with the community prayer gathering event "Unity Back to the Upper Room" that will take place later that evening at the Shreveport Convention Center. 

The annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony is sponsored each year by Keep Bossier Beautiful and the City of Bossier City. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the Bossier City Council Chambers, 620 Benton Road.
