HUMAN RESOURCES
The Human Resources Department of the
City of Bossier City, Louisiana provides comprehensive
human resource management services for the bulk of City
employment. Functions include recruitment and selection
processes; classification and pay systems; policy development
and management; equal employment opportunities, affirmative
action programming; benefit programs for employees,
risk management and safety and claims.

Employment applications are taken daily
(Monday through Friday) in the Human Resources Department
from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., or an applicant can submit
a resume by mail. Applications are retained in an active
file for a period of six months.
Job openings are posted in the Human Resources
Department and on other departmental bulletin boards. Current
city employees are given preference for promotion to positions
above the lowest grade.
After the closing date listed on the job
opening, all eligible applications are rated based upon
education, related work and knowledge required in the job-opening announcement.
The top three applicants are called in for an interview.
