Fleet Services
The Department of Fleet Services maintains and equips
the central garage facility with fleet maintenance responsibilities.
The department is responsible for maintaining all vehicles
and equipment owned by the City. When approved by the Mayor,
responsibility for maintenance of special use vehicles
and equipment may be delegated to the directors of the
Police and Fire Departments. The Fleet Service Department
has three divisions Administration, Maintenance, Small
Engines and Welding Shop.
The Administration Division performs data entry and administrative
functions of the central garage to include the following:
job order administration, maintenance scheduling, vendor
requisitions and personnel records.
The Maintenance Division employs qualified automotive
maintenance technicians to fill authorized positions for
which funds are appropriated to the central garage.
The Small Engines and Welding Shop division employs technicians
qualified to maintain miscellaneous equipment items to include,
lawn mowers, trimmers, lift station and other pumps, and
other equipment items.
