Mary K. Bixler Bryce

This lifelong Plain Dealing resident served Bossier Parish as Registrar of Voters for 44 years as one of the first women in the state to hold the position. Active with the Louisiana Registrar of Voters Association, at the time of her death she had a longer record of service to the Parish than any other official. She raised her daughter as a single parent and cared for her aging mother, blind brother and his daughter. She was also active in church and social functions such as the Order of the Eastern Star.
