Jane Smith

A teacher and principal, Jane Smith became the first female superintendent of the unified Bossier Parish schools, who developed a character education program and instituted technology in the schools. In 1999 she was elected to represent Bossier Parish District 8 in the La. State Legislature. She has served on the Education Committee, the Ways and Means Committee and the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay.
