Bossier City Crime Stoppers is a community-based effort that brings the public, the media and the police together in cooperative effort to help solve crime. This is accomplished by offering cash reward and guaranteeing anonymity to persons who furnish information that lead to the arrest or indictment of criminal offenders. Bossier City Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization and is funded entirely by tax-deductible donations from the private and corporate sectors. Crime Stoppers encourages any individual who has knowledge of a crime to call 424-4100 and relay their clues or information. They will not be asked to give their name. If their information provides clues that are vital to the successful solution of a crime, the tipster could receive up to $1000. Crime Stoppers has proven to be an effective weapon against crime. At present there are over 700 programs in the United States, Canada and in Europe.
